Seen a Provider name Lindsay Cox she was so Rude to me I just wanted to come back home,
Dr. Harris was very nice to my granddaughter, who is three. He has a good bedside manner. Thank you for great service!
My then 2 year old son went to his 17 year old sisters room and got into her chap stick, only this wasn't chap stick, this was wart remover. I rushed him to the emergency room with the wart remover. We sat in the waiting room for 2 hours. I finally got up and left figuring if he hadn't gotten sick he wouldn't. I called the poison control center in the parking lot of the emergency room as I was still really worried. When I told them the age of my son and what had happened the poison control center wanted the name of the hospital I was at and its address. Come to find out the wart remover was salliyic acid (Asprin). The poison control center told me it would be fine to take him home but that the hospital should have taken him straight back when i walked in because of his age and ingesting in foriegn substance not ment for food. About 30 minutes later I got a phone call from Valdese Hospital appoligising. It seems the poison control center called them to inform them about the policys the poison control center has in place for young children. The hospital asked if I would like to come back so they could check my son. I told them no that he was fine. NO thanks to them, mind you, but thanks to the poison control center!
I'd give them no stars if I could. Worst experience of my life. Went in around 1 pm bleeding profusely.. took them almost 30 mins to start sowing me up. Never once checked my wound before that. I had slit my left wrist open multiple times. Even tho I caused the wounds to myself I don't believe I should have been treated the way I was. They stitched me up. No medicine at all. All they told me was I had cut thru tendants and may never regain full feelings in my arm. Left the room and I sat there 1pm to almost 8 pm. Couldn't leave my room someone was posted outside my door. Only used the bathroom when I first got there so they could take a sample. I'm a diabetic and I went hours with no food or drink. I had to listen to them all sitting out by the computers talking about me like I wasn't even there. Worst part was at 8 my snobby nurse come to take my vitals and I told her no because they'd left me there all day that I didn't want her touching me so they called. In anburke county cop he flung me off the bed and than throw me back down bashing my head into the wall while he put my hands behind my back and cuffed me so tight I literally have bruises on both my wrist and he tore my stitches out and proceeded to throw me in the back of his cop car bleeding while he transferred me to grace. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone even if your dying. They have no sympathy at all and there all very rude and heartless. As for the cop I believe he deserves to loose his badge of anything. Go to grace or Frye they actually care about there patients no matter the circumstances.. I'm 24 and that was the scariest experience I've ever been thru. Couldn't see or talk to my family, they took all my belongings including my phone. I was a lone , frightened, and just needed a little compassion. It was horrible how they treated me.
They were very prompt and found out what was wrong in a short timely manner. Thanks to the whole staff very friendly and caring.
On another note, for myself, and my older children, this hospital and er have been awesome, but this was one incident that makes me think this hospital isnt that good for younger children.
